Koh Haa, Thailand

In the middle of the Koh Lanta National Park, there is a nest for one of the most precious jewels of the Andaman Sea: the 6 islands collection Koh Haa – Koh Haa Yai and 5 other islands.

People coming here can see dolphins and sometimes whales. It is best to not take a speedboat, if you want to catch some marine life in action.

While you get closer to the islands, your attention is going to be drawn off from the amazing limestone karst islands escalating marvelously from the ocean, and you’ll begin to observe the deep blue of the ocean transform to the lovely azure shade of the lagoon.

The lagoon is a wonderful location for snorkeling since it is no more than 6 meters deep with a great number of distinct types of soft and hard corals. On the western side of the lagoon is an excellent fine white-powdered sand beach where one can disconnect from the world and take some time away between scuba diving and perhaps snorkeling.

You will discover 9 distinct dive sites at Koh Haa, and this destination does indeed provide something for anyone – whether or not it is your very first time underwater or you are a well-practiced expert, the marine landscape is really extraordinary.

This site is good for macro enthusiasts. As a consequence of the nature of the limestone rocks, there are numerous splits and spaces along the walls, supplying protection to little species such as shrimp and crabs. Have a better look at a sea fan, so you could find an ornate ghost pipefish and cowries hidden among the fonds. Harlequin Shrimp as well as sea moth happen to be noticed between the 2 islands occasionally. A lot of species of nudibranch make their home at the wall structure, and lobsters as well as squid also come here.

Throughout the night dive, scuba divers can notice the orange cup corals broadening their polyps to capture their lucky prey. Yet as the saying goes, what goes around comes around – have a closer look so you can also observe sea snails feasting on the polyps of the incredible orange cup corals!
